However, collectors love them since they were only made for 3 years (the 1981 year was not meant to circulate, being only made for collectors) and there were only 4 coins for each year...a total of 12 coins for the old set!
This makes it one of the shortest run coin sets in U.S. history!
Now, we have the 1999 P, D and S mint dollars to add to the set. Why not put a set of these away for the kids? We have the 15 coin sets. Try to complete a set from the bank! Perhaps the government is right and there is a shortage!
